Piers and Spirals

In looking at all of the gorgeous photos on GuruShots, it has become apparent that I am missing two iconic shots in my portfolio.  The first is the long look down a pier, the pier being centered in the photo, preferably with dramatic clouds or a fantastic sunset.  The second is looking down (or up) a spiral staircase.  I have a spiral staircase shot, but the lighting is bad and the staircase is not attractive at all.  Lest you doubt that, here it is:

Needless to say, I need a trip to the beach for piers and lighthouses and amazing ocean sunsets.  And, obviously, I need more exposure to elegant, beautiful spiral staircases....#goals.
